Located at the bottom of the ski hill is Mont Tremblant Lake. There are a few different ways to navigate around Lake Tremblant. Twelve km in length, this lake is just big enough to never get crowded.
One of the great things about this lake is you can only have a boat if you live or own property on the lake. There are 2 marinas that have limited spots and a huge waiting list. If buying a million dollar property isn’t within your reach you can always rent a boat at the Beach and Tennis Club.
The Beach and Tennis is a beach where you have to pay to have access too but once you are there you can relax on long chairs or have a drink at the bar. You can wake board, wake skate, water ski or my favorite, good old reliable Pontoon.
I’m a big fan of getting a few people together, pack up some food and wine and take the pontoon out for at least 2 hours. This gives you just enough time to make it all the way to the end and back, barely though, the rental pontoons don’t go fast at all but if you are renting one of these you’re normally in no rush. You can also rent one with a BBQ.
A great way to take advantage of the lake is booking a boat ride on Ti-Ness’s fishing boat. His name is Serge and he owns an activity center in the old village.
He knows every square inch of the lake and he knows where to park the boat and take you hiking for the best views that you would never find on your own.
It has been a ritual since my arrival to Tremblant to take a ride with Ti-Ness on his big blue boat. We go cliff jumping and always end up at this awesome run down cabin way at the end of the lake, in the middle of nowhere which is where we usually have a BBQ. On a few occasions we stopped off at Tremblant Sur Le Lac Hotel for some Brazilian coffees to top off a perfect night.
Another awesome way to take advantage of Lake Tremblant is if you are lucky enough to have friends with boats. Luckily I have a few which is just great. Usually the best boating is after or during dinner time when the lake is quiet and still and we are just hanging with our friends. Times like this just make the summer so much better.
If you are at the Pinoteau beach you have free access to canoes, kayaks and peddle boats for free. I rent at Pinoteau so I hang at the Pin Beach.
I used to be a big fan of lac Mercier when I was renting there when I first moved here but I have fallen in love with Lac Tremblant and haven’t gone for a swim there in years. My mother religiously goes to watch the sunset at Lac Mercier. We used to have a tradition where we would pick up St. Hubert BBQ and bring it to Lac Mercier to watch the sunset. I should bring this one back. Food for thought.
The great thing about Lake Tremblant is that it can almost be enjoyed all year round. Boating in September and October is as awesome. A few years ago we were able to swim while all the leaves where in full color.
You can often see people in the winter time cross country skiing, skidooing, snowshoeing and even kite boarding. This is getting more popular as well because Tremblant Lake can get quite windy which I am assuming is crucial for this sport.
All to say, Lake Tremblant should be explored any time of year just because its such a great lake. You can normally expect to be able to swim in late May till about the end of September, all depending on the weather. For the winter, I normally don’t see anyone till January on it but if the winter season starts early, you can expect it to be frozen by Christmas. This always varies every year depending on the tempature.

such place is a serene, relaxing and so peaceful, plus the fact that the scenery is breathtaking too! Gotta bring my camera to capture such picturesque landscape.
I’m upset there’s no picture of Jimmy on the pontoon. Family , kids…they are welcome on lake tremblant. What about the families!!
